Uncorrect description of the notes

Notes are not decrypted correctly if you set a global encryption password. Information is lost.

Can you tell me more about what led to this happening? I’ve tried everything I can think of and can’t manage to cause an encryption problem like this. Did that happen to all notes or just that one?

Jay I think, it happened after one of updates. Some notes are normal, some like this.

I logged out, login back
and lost some documents

Oh so it’s not just notes, it’s some items too? How long ago did you set the encryption password? Do you know if those items were last modified before or after you set the password?

Can you try checking the Version History to see if there are previous versions that have the text correct?

I checked it up to 30th september, I think, I start using encription in that time. History is also randomly broken. In mobile and desktop apps only several notes is broken, and documents only in browser. P.S. Non critical for me, I have full copy in JIRA, it is just my personal roadmap/log. But I am a little surprised.

One more thing — I found this item, looks like broken codepage, may be, because some symbols look non-encrypted.

Are you using Legend on multiple devices? I wonder if somehow a sync went through on one of them without entering an encryption password?

There were also a few offline <-> online bugs in the past couple of weeks which may have caused some of these issues, so they may be fixed now. But I will check into it to make sure.

Maybe. Yes, one on my home Mac (app), one in Chrome (work Mac), one on Android phone, and one on iPad.

Hmm ok, it does sound like one of the bugs caused one of the devices to not be notified of the new password, so it was still saving with the wrong encryption settings. Is it still happening with any recent changes?

Jay I logged out on all devices, switched to beta, and logged in. Now all is ok.
