Group by tags is excluding items that should belong in 2 groups

Given the following view setup

List View Grouped by tags Sorted by Priority
Filtered by incomplete tasks with a specific tag X
When you add another tag #complex.med to items in the filtered tag #goal.month.may
Then the items you added the tag show under the #complex.med group but they no longer show in the #goal.month.may

I actually didn’t think this was a bug. I thought this was a legit feature.

If you play with it more, you’ll find that the items are only shown once in the list - in the first block they appear in. If you collapse that first block, you’ll see the “re-appear” in their 2nd tag block further down.

I can see how this is confusing too, but I’ve liked it.

I fail to see the logic behind this. If an item has two tags.. it should show under the groups of both tags. Whats the logic of it only showing in the first group and only if collapsed it shows in the second group?

@Jorge I agree with you. I set up a Pane for a client that breaks down his items by Tags, one set of tags being Projects and the other being People assigned to. He assigns tasks by both Project tag and People tag assigned to. He expected to see the task displayed under both set of tags in the Tags pane for review purposes and was surprised that that wasn’t so.

I agree the current behavior is unexpected. And there is a good argument to be made that unexpected when it comes to software and features like this is wrong.

I haven’t minded it; but it’s not something I love or make use of, so for the sake of clarity and following expected behavior - I’d be in favor of making it so items are shown under all tag blocks they belong in.
