I’m trying to determine some reproducible steps, but so far this happening on a regular basis….
I generally rotate several times a day between the following:
- Legend Native on Windows 10 (on three different machines)
- Legend Native on Windows 11 (one machine)
- Legend MacOS (Sonoma 14.3.1)
- Legend iOS on iPhone
- Legend iOS iPad
I only use one ‘board’, and close my panes when I don’t need them, keeping a fairly minimalist display most of the time, and I close any open Windows or Mac instances of Legend when I am not using them. iOS versions are left running in the background most of the time.
Occasionally, I will fire up a Windows or MacOS Legend Native, and an item will be at the top of the outline (exactly as I left it), but all it’s sub-items (children) are missing. All my documents are still visible in the docs list. For example, my “Today” item is on screen “Main Document/Personal/Today” is in the ‘breadcrumb’ at the top of the screen, but the main screen does not show any children as it should. I have no filters enable and no items are checkbox-types.
After the initial “uh-oh” moment, I select another point in the breadcrumb (i.e, Personal–one parent level higher). Today is show with it’s other sibling items, then selecting Today again fixes the issue and every child of Today is show once again as expected.
This is not limited to my Today item–I’ve seen this several times in other locations in outlines.
Not sure if it’s related, but I see it most often if a particular platform has not been used for more than a day or so……if I was home for a weekend working on home machines, then on monday come into the office and use office machines. More than once office machine will show this ‘missing children’. It seems as though they’re data is somehow stale when the app is run, and doesn’t show anything until you navigate the outline tree a bit.
I’ll continue to try to create some reproducible steps in the meantime.
