I just created a new document and was struck by how very BLANK it is.
A new user coming to Legend could easily see that and just be like, “Okay, now what?”
I know there is an onboarding document but once you’ve blown that away and made your own document, things are still new and unfamiliar.
The “+” button on the left side, and the new-item buttons at the top both appear on mouseover, which is perfect once you’re familiar with the interface, but it leaves a new user just waving their mouse around in whitespace.
I suggest that the “new item” buttons start off always visible in new documents. They could either revert to show on mouseover after a certain number of items have been created, or perhaps they just stay on all the time as part of a “training wheels” mode that new installations default to, with the intent of easing the learning curve.
