You can select a group of tasks and drag them to anther day on the calendar or agenda. But; as you note; that will assign a single date and therefore break the recurrence you have set - so that is probably NOT what you want to do.
With recurring tasks, you can use the “Repeat from completion” setting. With that enabled, when you complete the (now overdue) task from yesterday, instead of showing up again 5 days (for example) from yesterday, it will show up 5 days from when you marked it complete. Therefore - you can complete it today, and keep the same recurrence time frame.
Depends on. your use case; but I use this extensively for various kinds of chores and tasks. “Water houseplants every 7 days”, etc. So the task just hangs out on my “Overdue” list until I mark it complete. Then it shows up 7 days from when I marked it done.
