Normally I create OneNote attachments using “Copy Link to this Page” in OneNote and then pasting into Legend. I have found two situations where these attachments get broken. Both are related to using Legend’s internal tagging characters (# and !) in uncommon ways:
- If the OneNote note’s title contains a “#” character, the link is pasted as its literal markdown text and is not parsed as a Legend Attachment. The “#” creates a tag embedded within that markdown.
- Given that the OneNote attachment is the first (or only) component of an item, and the item preceding it ends in an exclamation point that does NOT create a date tag (as if ending a sentence with an exclamation). If user backspaces from in front of the OneNote attachment to merge it into the item above it, the result is a “broken image” icon instead of the attachment.
