I have date format set to Y/M/D but my date tags have always displayed as mmm/D (Dec 30 rather than 12/30) and without a year. Now that I have a lot of tasks happening in the next year, I noticed those are formatted according to my preference – and do include the year.
Hiding the year when it’s the same as today makes sense to me, but the month and day should still follow the user’s format setting. Thus I expect to see same-year dates as M/D (12/30) and other-year dates as Y/M/D (22/01/28). It’d also be nice if year were shown with 4 digits instead of just two. (2022/01/28).
Other folks surely operate on longer timelines, but my planning horizon is only about a month so this date format setting only has an observable impact on me for about 30 days out of the year, which makes it seem kinda silly.
