Yonz Yeah I had tried to. I had made new post on this issue in the new forum, going in to more detail about what I’d learned about authoritative state overriding optimistic local stuff… and I’d do so again but I’m nervous about it being lost too. Any chance you could allow posts to go unmoderated for a while so we can have reliable and timely posts, at least until it becomes necessary to turn moderation back on?
Re the work I put into the issue… you’re welcome, but my motivation was desperation in this case. I felt really uncomfortable using Prod because I move fairly rapidly through the app, and stuff is just getting deleted while I’m adding it. When I miss each occurrence, it’s just gone, because it’s reversed like it was never added. Dragging content around is kind of less dramatic but just as destabilizing. So I was just trying to bring enough attention and credibility to avoid a new release killing the older version on beta (1722099014839: July 28, 2:50 AM), as that was working perfectly for me.
Sadly it seems these few unfortunate events have meant legend is probably borderline unusable for me until whatever was broken can be repaired.
Anyway, I beg you to keep it really high priority. Although the issue is infrequent for me and rare for everybody else (or at least those few users who’d bother to report very infrequent oddities like this) … I would suggest that’s the wrong perspective.
To me, it really looks like whatever broke has taken the state management stuff from having integrity, to not having integrity. And I think that’s huge.
As embarrassing as it would be after talking this up, I’d love to find that it’s some kind of local “me only” issue. I’ll test beta and report back. And I’ll also test using my phone to see if it’s an issue on my LAN.
But you guys can probably see exactly what changed between July 28 and the second last release and hopefully you’ll see exactly what was touched that could cause this.
Thanks again for checking in. LMK if you’d rather move this chat to the other forum and I’ll have another crack at posting.
