There’s a number of actions that aren’t available in popup Panes. I don’t know – but I fervently hope – that popup Panes will eventually gain full functionality and become easier to open. There’s a LOT Of workflow power to be found there.
I am aware of the following “normal Pane” features that you can’t do in popups
- Copy multi-selected text
- Insert a New Item by pressing return after an existing item (!)
- Numerous hotkeys, including (but probably not limited to):
– ‘complete’
– ‘new item’
– changing prefixes
– applying a hyperlink
You can, however, invoke Alt+M (“move to”) via the RMB.
