I agree. Being able to determine when we need a “3-level”, “5-level”, or “10-level” priority scale would be useful and a super nice addition.
I happen to use those three different systems according to the need of the area or type of work/item:
- Sometimes using a 3-scale rating is great because its minimalism and it clusters more items in every group.
- When 3 levels are not enough, sometimes, just having a wider scale of 5 steps makes the job perfectly.
- Sometimes having the whole granularity of a 1 to 10 scale is needed to rate or rank items with more precision.
