Images converted to Base64 Links

I have some inline images that have someone been converted to base64 links. I’m not sure when/why this happened and/or why it only happened to some inline images in my document. But, is there a clean/easy way to convert the base64 links back to images?

I did confirm that pasting the string into an online Base64 to Image converter generates the right images, but it’s going to be a tedious task to do that for every image so I’m wondering if it’s a known beta bug that can be fixed in the next release.

@Jay I also found that the inline images show correctly on the Android mobile app (running 6.0.0 - 164344145944 (Jan 29 12:30 AM) build. My Windows app is on 2.0.6 - 1644357390750 (Feb 8, 4:56 PM) Beta build.

So, maybe something between those builds broke the inline images?

Before I go through the hassle of manually convert these base64 links back to images 😨, has anyone else ever experienced this? And/or know what I may have done to trigger the inline images converting to base64 links in the first place?

I’m a new user, still trying Legend out so it’s not the end of the world to manually change them now. But, if I was a few months into using the app and ran into this problem again, it would be painful.

Did that happen to images uploaded with Drive? In our code for displaying images from Drive there’s a fallback to use base64 in case it doesn’t return normal image urls. But I don’t know why that would happen… maybe some settings in Drive? That doesn’t get hit for any images on my account…

But base64 images should work fine. I think in a recent update we broke display of base64 images, so I’ll release an update shortly which I think should fix this for you.

Jay I didn’t specifically “upload with Drive”, but my scenario was that I was taking screenshots during a meeting and pasted the images into my notes. I did find the original images in a Drive folders, under the Legend directory – so, it’s comforting to know they are “safe and available”, even if the formatting in the Outline is messed up.

One thing I am curious about when pasting screenshots – are the image filenames derived with the num string for a reason? It would be nice if the random (or what appears to be random) string of numbers could instead use a yyyymmddhhmmss.png structure.
