Mis installed Legend in my windows

@Jay I just screwed up in the latest upgrade of Legend. When the prompt asking if you want an installation just for your user or for all users in the computer, I misclicked the option of installing it just for my user.
My installation had always been to all users and therefore was residing in the d:\Program Files\Legend folder. The new version was dumped into c:\users\MyUser\appdata\Local\Programs\Legend

So effectively I have now 2 different versions of the software, which I fear is not only confusing but can cause problems if I accidentally fire up the wrong version.

Will I cause any problems if I uninstall the local user version and then reupgrade the version in the d:\program files\Legend independently? I don’t know if the new version does anything to the local database files that might cause a problem.
Or would it be a better appraoch to just upgrade the version in all users, and then uninstall the local version for my user?

So couldn’t wait more, so decided to go for just installing the new version on top of the all users instance. Interestingly it seems that doing so, eliminated the c:\users\appdata\Local\Programs\Legend got emptied by teh installation program. So I hope nothing was messed up.

@Jay So unfortunately this didnt work. Now my Legend starts up in a white screeen while it loads, then turns black, and nothing else happens.
I have rebooted a couple of times to see ifthat would clear it but didnt.
I am going to try to do another reinstall on top of the All Users instance and if not do a full uninstall and reinstall.

It should not matter where the app is installed since all of the data is stored in a UserData folder. And I haven’t been a real Windows user in a decade so I’m not super familiar with how it works these days. But I think the thing to do would be to uninstall all of the versions and install just one where you want it.

Clearing the app data would clear the local cache so you’d need to sign in again. Since you have so much data it may take a while to fully cache it, so maybe wait a couple minutes after the initial launch before restarting the app?

Thanks I did what you said, did a full reinstall, removed the data folder and then reinstalled. Function was restored properly. Only thing is that a board that I used to use frequently is now unresponsive. Tried the board in the web app in a different computer and same behavior, so I am afraid I corrupted somehting. I had to recreate the board from scratch. Haven’t deleted it in case there is something you can think of diagnosing.

AFter the reinstallation I keep getting a number of error popups. I am typing the description of what I was doing and sending the error message for you te evaluate if it might be lingering problem from what I caused.
