Filter option for DisplaySettings/Color dialog

There are a lot of CSS-type color options to sift through in the Display Settings/Colors tab dialog box.

It would be very useful to have a ‘text filter’ box at the top of the listing of colors where you could enter some text (i.e. “itemComplete”. Then only the color items containing that text would appear in the list for faster searching and modification by the user.

It would also be nicer visually for those that are scared off by hex, CSS and other parenthesis-based displays if the colors list was but a simple listing of color names and color selection boxes, although it is understood that this would involve a lot more code. It would make for a more user-friendly interface and prevent people from accidentally changing things such as the text of things they shouldn’t, i.e. “.panelHeader”.

Yeah, that’d all be nice to have!
The Theming controls are relatively new and certainly have lots of space to grow and improve.

The bigger problem in there is that some controls have no apparent effect, while certain UI elements have their styles/colors hard-coded and can’t actually be changed with the Theme. I attempted a “full re-skin” of the app and got it about 95% there, but had to make a few deviations from my ideal because of the elements I couldn’t control. There are a handful of elements in my display that are actually invisible because the text color matches my chosen background…luckily i don’t use those buttons much 😁

I’m trying to pull together a compilation of these Theme shortcomings so maybe Jay can make the needed changes, but it’s been a busy year and so far it looks like it’s never gonna get better…
