Last mobile update is freezing mobile app

The last update to the mobile app is causing it to freeze after several uses. I haven’t got any reproduction steps yet, but it freezers after constant usage for a few minutes. 30-90

Hmm, I wonder if it’s similar to the white screen error you’ve been getting in the desktop version. I’ll keep an eye out for it.

It is now completely unusable. It just freezes after a few minutes of use.

@Jay So after a couple of restarts, I just realized that the app is not completely frozen. It just refuses to scroll. That’s what made me think it was totally frozen, but I’ve seen that other commands do work (Expand/collapse, adding new items, deleting, typing, setting priorities). It’s just that the app refuses to scroll up or down and since that is the first thing I always do when I pull up the app that’s what threw me off.

Now application is being completely frozen. No buttons respond. Only option is to kill the application and restart it.

It happened to me today (Android). It froze completely. I restarted and worked again.

It continues happening to me every day. It just freezes after a while and only a restart gets it going, but I need more stability from the android app for it to be really usable.

This happens to me regularly, and has for some time, after the app is in the background for a while. This also happens frequently in my Windows desktop app… it regularly freezes and I have to close the app and restart. Just part of the Legend quirkiness that I have learned to live with.

I’m experiencing the same issue as well on the iPhone. Only an app restart works.

@Jay I thought it was because of my huge document size, but if other people are having this problem then it means its endemic.

To summarize again, after a certain amount of time or number of operations the application just freezes in the Windows Desktop (showing a completely white screen) and in the mobile apps (both android and iphone) by just stopping to respond.

I believe this kind of behaviors are tough to trace unless you have a descent log that can be looked at to see what is the pattern of the last operation before the freeze.

Any other ideas in how we can help you debug this one @Jay ?

I’m not sure how to debug this since I’ve never seen it myself… I have a feeling based on debugging this issue with @Jorge a while ago that it’s caused by trying to sync pane collapsed states that are too large. Can you tell if that’s the pattern? That it happens after doing a collapse? or doe sit always happen in the background?

Jay I don’t recall it happening after an expand/collapse. I’ll pay more attention to when it happens going forward, but for me, it is predominantly if not always when the app is in the background… on Windows desktop, particulary after the computer has been in sleep or hibernate mode, and on Android, while the app has been in the background for a little while (more than a quick back and forth).

I feel that there is commonality with my desktop app freezes. In my case the definitive pattern I can see in the desktop is that the response time starts to slow down significantly for a few operations (either typing characters, collapsing or expanding) until eventually it just explodes into a white screen.
In themobile however I havent seen the slowdown as a precursor, it just stops working after a few operations. Now I must say that in the mobile app I do a lot o more colapsing and expanding than I do in the desktop app due to the screen size.

@Jay When you say panes that are too large, are you meaning panes that contain too many items vertically or that they have items with too many levels deep, or boards that have too many panes? Cause I have all of those.
