Example:
“original” item is an h2 header (project) item in Document A
a mirrored instance is created at the top level (<h1>) of Document B
the mirror-instance in Document B is drawn with <h2> styling, while the <h1> headers (projects) immediately above/below it are styled larger and bolder.
This implicitly contradicts the concept that there “is no original” since the only explanation for the difference in styling is that it’s being taken from some “original” item. It also just makes Document B look broken. Since styling itself has no functional impact, there is no harm in adjusting it to be consistent with the position of each individual mirror instance within its Outline. Since you can’t filter or sort on styling, nor can you single out the indent level of headers (projects) when filtering on them, there is no functional downside to doing this.
The only wrinkle in my above assertion is (i think) the “show all projects from anywhere” option in group-by-project Panes. But that doesn’t seem like enough of a reason to leave this behavior as it is. I’d like to hear @LauraH thoughts on that, since I don’t personally use this option.
