Can't filter email pane by label or star

I used to filter my email inbox pane by label and by star but can’t figure out how to do it now. I think I used “label:personal” to include only items with the “personal” label but that doesn’t work now. Is there still a way to filter by label, and for that matter, by star? The text filter dropdown help menu seems to be only relevant for an outline view.

@Jay Do you think filtering the email inbox pane by label will be possible again? Really key to my evolving workflow and just trying to understand if it would be expected to be available in the near term, or not. Thx.

andrew Why don’t you just type #personal in the filter? That doesn’t work for you?

I re-tagged this as a bug because the email filtering just doesn’t function the way it used to and the way it should. Plus the Hints are just incorrect.

I marked it Urgent because this particular issue significantly negatively impacts my productivity, more than any other bug in a while.

@Jay Bumping this as it’s now been 7 months and there just isn’t a good workaround for me. Really miss this functionality.

andrew Fixed in latest update. Let me know if it’s still not working right or if it could be improved.

No, that doesn’t work. It is supposed to support the “label:” prefix, which used to properly match on Gmail labels but then stopped working, and the label is also not searched when searching without a prefix.

@Jay It isn’t working in mobile (Android) yet. Should it be or does the updated code still need to be copied over to mobile?
