Generally regarding image support in Legend, I did find that turning OFF inline preview made image insertion and management more reliable. Some ‘basic’ functionality like moving images and/or adding a bullet right above/below the image seem finicky with inline previews turned on (but work fine when images are just linked).
I’m attempting to switch my workflow to try and use the default linked images mode, and the following enhancements would be very helpful
1. Feature Request: Selective ‘show image inline’ option
It would be very helpful if I could right click on an image link and selectively “show image inline” (didn’t see a way to do that).
On an existing inline image, I see there’s an option to “show as text”
But, if I then right click on that image file link and try to convert it back to an inline image, there’s no option to do so:
2. Feature Request: Use locally cached images first
Is there a way for images to use the locally stored/cached image first?
While I’m mostly working at home with a strong internet connection right now, my line of work (sales) requires travel (i.e., often no internet when I’m with a customer). I found that if I’m in airplane mode and insert an image as a link, the link doesn’t show the image until I get an internet connection back. If I have inline images enabled however, the image is viewable immediately, even if I’m offline.
As an example, I may be meeting with a customer and need to look back at a diagram/image that they shared in a previous meeting or by email (which I attached to my notes). I’m no longer able to reference that diagram in my current discussion. Alternatively, I may be working on a plane with weak/no wifi as I prep for a discussion and
3. Feature Request: is:image filter should also show image (.png/.jpg/etc) links
Another issue that I run into when disabling inline images is that I can’t use the is:image to filter image file links. Could you consider including those image file links within the is:image filter?
4. ‘Chose Drive File’ Inline Images Issue
Specifically for the “choose drive file” issue where the file is an image and ‘show images inline’ is turned on, is your system showing images inline? It seems like it could easily be a bug if Legend is coded to treat all ‘upload drive files’ insertions as ‘attachments’ and not distinguish between documents (.pdf/.doc/etc) and images. Implementing some of the options above would make this a moot point for me anyways.
