Deleting item with date on editable calendar not removing from GCal

My default calendar is set to Editable = Yes. When I delete an item with a date set on that calendar, it is not being removed from Google Calendar.

Also, when I clear the date of an item synced to Google Calendar, the event is not being removed from Google Calendar.

Removing the event in Google Calendar is not removing the date of the item.

The only way to keep items in sync with GCal is to do “Remove from Google Calendar” on the context menu before clearing a date. This does seem to remove from Google Calendar. Unfortunately, this is not an option in the mobile app.

This should be fixed in the latest beta 🙂. Can you give it a check over and see if it’s working correctly for you?

Jay Thanks for addressing this! GCal now correctly reflects date clearing and dated item deletion in Legend. Thanks!

One remaining issue (of lesser importance but it would be nice) is that deleting an event in GCal is not removing the date of the item in Legend. I believe that is how it used to, and is intended to, work.

Also after I delete the event in GCal, any changes to the date of the item in Legend are not reflected in GCal. Maybe it is trying to update the corresponding GCal event but it has been deleted so it is not present in GCal?

Jay I noticed this is not working on mobile. Is this fix client-side functionality that syncs directly to GCal, in which case I assume I need to wait until the mobile app is updated for it to work, or is it server side, in which case I would expect it to work now?

andrew I think it doesn’t handle deletions from GCal very well. Do you think it should keep the date on the item but just unsync it from Google? Or should it remove the date?

andrew It’s client-side. I was focused on desktop updates to the email pane for a little while so I haven’t released the changes into mobile yet. I’ll aim to do that tomorrow.
