Missing Functionality / Bugs in Mobile App (Android)

Text cannot be made bold / underlined / italicized in the mobile app (it is only available for “Notes”). Please let me know if it is hidden in plain sight and I have not noticed it.
When text in a particular node is being edited, it cannot be expanded to show its children when they exist, it cannot also be zoomed into by tapping on the bullet. These actions can only be done after selecting some other node so the context moves to that node away from this node.

So I can now bold / underline / italicize text in the mobile app after enabling “Show markdown formatting” in the settings and using markdown to perform the said actions. Is this the only way to do it for now?

Regarding the second point in the OP, just minimizing the keyboard now takes the context away from the node being edited, allowing for expanding children or zooming into it. Not sure if this is a side effect of enabling “Show markdown formatting” in settings as this was not happening before.

Thanks for the report! Yes, the mobile app does not currently support adding formatting.

We purposefully disabled zooming/expanding/collapsing while editing because we were afraid of accidental taps while editing. Do you think it would be better to allow them through?

We’re planning to focus deeply into the mobile app in the next couple months to make it really great 🙂.

For me personally, accidentally getting into the editing mode while trying to expand / collapse / zoom a particular node happens far more often than the other way round. This is because of the relatively tiny “arrow” button on the right extreme of the mobile screen that is used to expand / collapse a node.

I would say it would enhance the user experience if zooming / expanding / collapsing is allowed while editing.

Also, thank you for this awesome app that has been thoughtfully designed.

For my use case, I primarily use the Android mobile app to read/review notes, not take them. So, an option to start off in read-only mode would be welcomed. If I attempt to edit, getting a prompt where I confirm I want to be in edit mode is simple enough.

This would save me from the numerous accidental edits I seem to make every time I try to drag/scroll in the mobile app.
