This is another feature (along with Share on Android) that I would like to see and would make using Legend more seamless by making it easier to add items (text, images, URLs) from the web.
Just like the Share feature, I see this as a way to add something to a designated “inbox” (which is selected via Settings). You select the stuff to add and then click the button at the top of the browser window and, bang!, it appears in your Legend inbox.
A more feature-rich (and more difficult)? alternative would be to have something similar to the desktop Legend global “New Item” hotkey. This would give the user the option to select where to add the new stuff (by document than within the document) and add a note and/or priority and star. The big different I would see (and hope for) is that the “Item text” would be filled in with whatever was selected on the web page and that the browser wouldn’t lose focus. All of this would be similar to the web clipper for Evernote or Zoho Notebook.
Right now, if I want to add something, I copy the stuff, hit the Legend global new item hotkey and then paste it in and select where it saves to. This isn’t a big burden to do, but having a web clipper would create less resistance and make it easier to use Legend as THE PLACE to store (and organize) everything!
