I just released an update which should fix the Agenda issues Jorge as well as a bunch of other errors while loading.
This beta update is a really big change (as you can tell from the new bugs and how long I was not very active here while working on it). So there’s a whole host of old bugs that are just gone now, but there’s also been some new minor ones. Since everybody’s documents are different and may have been affected by various bugs in the past, it’s hard to test for every possible scenario. But with the new (silent) error reporting I’m getting tons of detail on it and am trying to stay at 0 errors. At this point every error in the error reporter has been fixed 🙂.
But then there’s still the other issues that aren’t technically errors, so I’m working on tracking those down. One I just found is that the Deleted view can make things slow if you have tons of Deleted items, so try to avoid that until the next update 😱.
And I expect this to stay in beta for another week or two until everything is totally ironed out, so no worries about bugs hitting stable.
Jerud I have not encountered any focus loss issues yet. I have a theory that it’s caused by having multiple instances open, or having both stable and beta open at the same time. I’ll test for that soon.
And the board sync between beta/stable is kind of weird because they use different properties (the new properties fix a huge host of bugs in the old ones). Beta will show boards migrated from stable, but once you modify it in beta it diverges using its new properties. So each board is listed in both stable and beta but they use totally different properties. So for example if you modify a filter in beta it won’t change in stable. I hadn’t quite thought through the repercussions of using both stable and beta together for an extended period… I think the beta version already is (or will soon be) strictly better than stable so the goal is to be able to fully migrate to it asap.
Thanks so much for all the reports! I am running through and fixing them as quickly as I can, prioritizing anything that looks like data loss (but is always a local caching issue) or loading errors. So even if you’re not ready to trust beta as a daily driver, if you’re seeing major errors it would help me a lot to open it up in an incognito window again and let me know if they’re still happening, partly because the errors should also come into the error reporter so I can track them down.
