Date colour and pane header colour are applying correctly but not saving. “Check for update” comes back as being latest, although the version I am on is 1629627875208

Hmm. If you open the display settings after it loads, are the colors in the theme editor as you had last changed them? That’s what I fixed before, where it did have the correct settings but wasn’t applying them correctly on load. Or have those values reverted back to the default? And is it not saving in Color or Layout or both?

In my case, changing the star color applies properly and shows the correct value when I go back into Display Settings, but once I quit and restart the Windows app, the value in Display Settings reverts back to default and the actually applied color is the default color. This happens with other colors that I have tried as well. This is also happening in the web version… when I reload the page, or close the tab and open a new one and load the page, the colors revert.

Wow, I just cannot figure out why it’s not working for all of you. I even copied @andrew’s data to my test account (documents are encrypted so it’s all garbled but settings are not) and it’s got your changes to star and date colors, and then saves correctly. So it seems like it’s saving and syncing correctly, so it must be something else…

I’ve released a possible fix with a lot of logging to our staging environment. Could you please try the version at https://staging.legendapp.com/ and see if it works better? If it’s having the same problem, can you send me a screenshot of the developer tools console? That will tell me how far it gets through loading themes and what the saved values are.

Note: You don’t want to keep using the staging version beyond this test. It’s where I test changes before releasing them to beta so may become unstable in the future.

I apply the color I want to the tags, then I take a screenshot of the console?

Oh sorry, take a screenshot of the console just after the app/page loads. You should see it start with some messages like:

Still a problem with the staging version. Below is my console output. I notice that the color that is set for star and date are NOT the colors that I have most recently saved. In fact, those value were probably set back when you first released this functionality. I have since changed the colors many times. I tried now to change the values in staging, and the newly changed colors are applied properly, but after reloading, it reverts to the default colors and shows these same old color values in the console output:

andrew I just released another update to staging (1629781600849) which adds one more log. Can you just try it one more time? From those logs it looks like it didn’t make the change to blue #73D8FF at all… It should be in that first line applyColorTheme. Is it affecting the display of the starred item in the pane?

andrew I just released an update (1629790503578) that fixes a bug Laura found had which might fix this. If not…

Is that video from the same session as the log? I can’t figure out how that’s even possible. It’s logging {“inherit”:“Light”} as the theme, which should mean it has no effect. But it does seem to be saving the star color to display it.

Can you send me another set of logs from setting the color in this update? I added some more logging. Thanks!
