andrew I agree that document next to inbox is ideal. I wonder if we can set up an optional mode to auto-shrink the pane when looking at a message list and auto-expand when opening a preview, then shrink back when closing it? I’ll play around with that.
I’m not sure about mobile yet. It could stay as it is, or we could try augmenting the mobile web apps in the same way.
I think we could make Chrome extensions that display documents to the side. That’s a good idea! The extension could potentially just show an instance of Legend itself as a sidebar inside Gmail/Outlook. That could be pretty cool, basically this new implementation but flipped the other way.
This actually is the “browser” pane type - you figured out my longer term plan 🙂. I’m just starting with Gmail/Outlook first to prove it out in a more constrained environment, and improve the Gmail/Outlook experiences which are currently broken for a lot of people. Then once that’s all solid I’ll expand it with more browser features.
andrew You can collapse the left sidebar with the hamburger button and you can hide the right bar with the arrow icon button at the bottom of the right bar.
Oh yes, I haven’t clicked those buttons in a long time and forgot about them! So I think we could easily inject actions to auto-hide them.
andrew In this version, the resize cursor is not showing when hovering over the edge of a pane. At first I thought I couldn’t resize a pane, but it does work, just doesn’t show the cursor.
Weird, I don’t know why that would have happened, but I’ll check on that.
andrew Clicking on an email in the outline or in the old email inbox pane currently does nothing now in this version.
This may be related to the bug that’s making the drag/drop not work. I’ll check on that before releasing the update (should be in a few hours).
