Today I realized that all of my mirrors from local documents to cloud documents have turned into [[links]], as Jerud described. They don’t have number boxes on the right, even when hovering. They do work as links if I click them. Also, links that I made have lost their number boxes too. Mirrors and links within the same document seem to be still ok, and links at least are ok between separate cloud documents. I don’t have any mirrors between separate cloud documents, or mirrors/links between separate local documents, so I don’t know about that. It happened with multiple documents, e.g. between two local and cloud “testing” documents I use, as well as my regular documents.
I can make new mirrors and links between those same documents, and re-create the ones I had, and they work as expected so far.
I’m not sure exactly when this happened. It might have been just today. Possibly it was sometime in the last couple of days and I only noticed it now. Maybe at the time of the last update, possibly related to something I did while troubleshooting the other problem I had? That included logging in with a browser, which I don’t normally do, and the desktop app on an other computer, and temporarily deleting the local “docs” folder, among other things.
And also as Jerud described, I’m spending too much time testing and reporting bugs, particularly about mirroring. It’s disappointing too that many of the reports seem to go into limbo. That’s maybe in part due to the nature of using a discussion forum for bug tracking. Also maybe I’m expecting too much by trying to use it between local and cloud documents. But even some quite basic things are still not working. For example, it’s not practical to use mirroring on mobile, because you can’t move mirrored items.
Mirroring is one of the most interesting features that attracted me to using Legend - it’s actually something I imagined myself many years ago, that I wished my previous outliner could do, before I knew it existed anywhere. So it’s frustrating that it’s almost there, but after nine months of using Legend, I still can’t actually make use of it reliably.
