Top bugs/features we want addressed

So here is an update with recent errors I just brought from my Legend list (the new ones are in hyperlink color)

Stability

Clicking old email links in mailbird doesn open the email High
Unarchiving an item doesnt put it back into its original place High
Focus mode just doesnt work High
Editing text has become a little slow since the latest beta update Medium

Data Safety / Integrity

Installation of windows desktop update wipes out the backups folder Critical
List views are not bringing up all the items as Outline Views Medium
Bottom bar stats are mismatching Medium

Filtering

Between: queries <> After: and Before: queries and they are bringing overdue items when querying after:today High
In a zoomed outline in agenda mode, overdue still shows items from other outlines or documents HIgh
Overdue items coming on a filter after:today High
In a board I am still getting recurring items grouped under overdue even though their due date is in the future High
Agenda views are bringing completed items even when filtered for -is:complete Medium
Overdue items coming ona filter after:today Medium
On zoomed branch grouped by Created brings items from other places Medium
Cannot create mirrors across documents Medium
Mirrors with dates are not being filtered correctly Medium
Filtering for items that have mail links from mailbird brings up an empty pane Low

Web / windows usabiilty (to facilitate onboarding)

Text formatting toolbar gets truncated in thin panes Medium
Tag color formatting error Was solved before but I reopened Medium
Legend continues pasting horribly Low

Planning

Posting images on a document that was shared with me doesnt make them to the origin Low

Can you even pick them? When I select a tag I’ve half typed, the list goes away and the tag remains half-typed. Ie the list popping up achieves very little.

Those screenshots above were from the app. I never use Legend in the browser on device (only on desktop).

Tried browser version on mobile first the first time and the ghosting is even worse there.

ghuth Coincidentally today I grabbed my wife’s phone and there it was, in the native app exactly the ghosting effect you describe. However in my phone I never see it.
Could it be the font size? My wife uses a larger font size than me… I use really tiny fonts.

Jorge Good catch - if I drop my font size down from 14 to 12 the ghosting does go away on mobile. Even 13 fixes it - I can use this for a workaround, thanks 🙂

Jay The latest update you did to address the ghosted/ shadowed text in IOS did that also supposed to solve the same probelm in Android that ghuth reported above?

Oh that’s very good information about the ghosting! We’ve had reports about that before but I’ve never been able to reproduce it. Now that I know it’s the font size it’ll be much easier to fix 🙂

Sorry I haven’t gotten to this list yet - still working out some edge case sync bugs. But hopefully that’s all done now and then this will become the focus 👍️

Jorge Is the thread falling down the list for you? I had stickied it which I thought would make it stay at the top… But maybe it only appears stickied if you go into the specific category page?

Jay It was falling down (I saw it like at the bottom of the page, that’s why I bumped it up. But I can’t recall in which view I saw it falling.

I just came looking in regards to ghosting (iPad Pro), but also am having a lot of problems with navigation and editing / selecting “type” of what I’m doing. I use a keyboard with my iPad, and navigation and text entry is definitely problematic. Also seeing it jump around to things I should not be “in” when I try and type or duplicate lines. I like the idea of this app, and about the only place it’s worked well all of the time is the desktop app on my Mac and everywhere else is fine to look at, but frustrating to actually edit (iPad and iPhone).

crashmstr Now that we’ve got the new sync system out we’ll put more focus into the mobile apps since they’re really behind in quality. The keyboard problem is a good one - I’ll see if we can emulate that using the iOS simulator on a Mac or I’ll get an external keyboard to test it.

Jay Just saw the reply to Jorge, and switched over to the beta and ghosting on iPadOS looks to be fixed so far.

Jay On my S21 Ultra its looking good. I tried all font sizes and problem seems to be gone.

I’m actually seeing a couple of new bugs in the last 24 hours. Can’t replicate yet, but it’s in the fundamentals like links and merging lines…

ghuth That’s odd, there hasn’t been an update in a couple of weeks so I don’t know why something would suddenly be crashing…

Since we finally got the sync system to be stable I’ve been taking a little break and working on other things like our automated and email list systems and prepping some marketing outreach stuff. I will come back to this in a few days and focus on these lists 🙂
