Not sure if this would be possible, but in the new email pane, it would be nice if you could somehow drag an open conversation into another outline pane (e.g., drag from the header of the conversation or some other element that could be made draggable, even in the pane header), so that while you are reading a conversation you can add it to a document without having to close it and drag from the inbox. Often I’ll drag it in to the outline and then modify the outline based on the contents of the email, including copying and pasting text from the email.
This is mostly relevant when you don’t use “split pane” mode in Gmail so you don’t see the inbox when in a conversation. I actually prefer to not use split pane mode in Gmail, and when using Multiple Inboxes view, you CAN’T use split pane. Plus in Legend, it is helpful for the conversation to replace the inbox so I don’t need as wide of a pane for Gmail.
