Jay Thanks for your dedication here, I totally get what it’s like to test the hell out of something every way you can think, and then someone comes along and finds issues. That’s why beta testing is still a thing : )
Yes this is in stable. These items were –mostly– created initially in the Inbox (i.e. root level of this doc), then subsequently organized into heading/project branches of (usually) that same doc. I do occasionally use the Inbox Pane as a “clipboard”, and some of the items I’m pretty sure ended up there for that reason. Moving between desktop and mobile seems to be the ‘trigger’ for generating the zombies. I’ve actually just deleted the mobile app - it literally makes extra work for me every time I use it, which is a hard fail for a productivity app : )
Due to their age, I can’t give you very good info on these items. After all, I rely on Legend to keep this stuff straight, because I can’t! They are generally old items, with some create-dates from 2021. Most of them look like stubs, which I would have just used to update an existing item in the Outline then deleted. Or if I moved it to the Outline it would be developed so much I couldn’t ID it as a dupe. From the prefixes/tags and wording, these are almost all leaf-items. For the handful that are parents, their children are leafs, no sub-parents. A few are repeat-offenders; one set of items has materialized in my Inbox repeatedly for probably the last year. I actually have dread every time I open Legend: Am I going to see those damn items about clearance and identification lighting again?
Many of these would have stayed within the same document, but most of them relate to my main project from the last year(s), which at one point was in a separate doc. So I can’t tell you for sure if there is a correlation with moving between- or within- docs. One thing I don’t see at all is mirrors. But that makes sense because my workflow never generates mirrors in the inbox.
I’m going to clear out these items and just stay in stable on my main machine. Will test the new beta on the shop computer. After the sync revision goes to stable I will reinstall mobile and see if these zombies come back again. Maybe if I remember I’ll do a document export before-and-after to see if I can catch the changes?
