Beta Updates

Jay

The purpose of the beta version of Legend is to get your feedback on the future direction and to verify bug fixes. The beta is usually a few days ahead of the normal version, but can sometimes be much farther ahead if we’re working on a big project. It is updated up to multiple times per day, so you will see the update notification quite often.

Switching to the beta version will ask you to sign in again.

How to switch to the beta version

In the web app

Just open https://beta.legendapp.com and sign in again.

In the desktop app

On Mac, click on the Legend menu in the top left of your screen and select Use Beta Version.
On Windows, press the Alt key to show the menu and select Use Beta Version from the File menu.

In the mobile apps

Open the settings, then select About Legend, and toggle Use Beta Version.

Fix: Filtering no longer recognizes - as a filter. It was making filtering jump around a lot when trying to negate.
Fix: Zooming in and out now resets scroll to the top. It had been trying to be smart but ended up more confusing than anything.
Fix: Completing items now sets selection to the nearest neighbor correctly. It was sometimes losing selection completely before, requiring a click.

Essentially 3-6 days are still not working because it seems to be counting calendar days and just filtering for weekends.

This change seems to have introduced two new bugs:

The theme editor jumps to the top of the page any time I exit a color-picker (by clicking outside of it).
Changing the color value by directly editing the RGB decimal numbers doesn’t behave correctly. I noticed a couple different things, not sure how they all play together:
editing the decimal numbers does make the hex value change – but it uses lowercase alpha characters which don’t appear to get correctly parsed so the color ends up black. This is especially interesting since typing directly into the hex field always types in caps.
editing the decimal values also tends to result in 5-digit hex codes, which may not technically be “wrong” but they’re harder to understand.
